Ecumenism: Thinking Globally, Acting Locally
(Photo of Susan Durber, taken by Coryn Stehouwer)
In September this year, I attended my first All Ecumenical Representatives Conference, a 3 day event with Churches Together in England. It was a wonderful time to connect with so many other people working in this field of work across the country. A highlight of the event was a talk by Susan Durber from the World Council of Churches (WCC) about the First Ecumenical Council in Nicaea, the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea is the theme for the 2025 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. And I am delighted to share that this talk was recorded and is available online.
Please visit this link to check out this talk as well as other presentations, including:
a dialgoue with young ecumenists,
a discussion of peace and reconciliation from The Fellowship of Reconciliation,
& Susan Durber presenting on how WCC connects with local ecumenism.
I hope this can give you a taste of some of the work and dialogue happening in ecumenism in CTE and across our regions and nation.
